Description

MINIMUM TECH FEATURES:

  • Uses surface-mount ATmega328P-AU, soldered permanently to the board.
  • Compatible with all Arduino shields and the Arduino IDE.
  • Built-in reset button, ICSP header, and power/communication LEDs (PWR, TX, RX, L).
  • Provides hardware serial communication via USB (handled by the ATmega16U2

DESCRIPTION:

  • The Arduino Uno SMD is powered by the ATmega328P microcontroller, an 8-bit AVR device from Microchip Technology (formerly Atmel). It operates at 5 V and runs at a clock speed of 16 MHz.
  • As an SMD (Surface-Mount Device) variant, its components are surface-mounted on the board, making it more compact and suitable for automated manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • The board includes a USB Type-B interface for programming and serial communication with a computer. This enables easy uploading of programs using the Arduino Integrated Development Environment (IDE) via a standard USB cable.
  • Similar to the standard Arduino Uno R3, it features 14 digital input/output pins (of which 6 can be used as PWM outputs) and 6 analog input pins. These pins allow the board to interface with various sensors, actuators, and other electronic components.
  • The Arduino Uno SMD can be powered through the USB connection or an external DC power supply (recommended input: 7–12 V) via the barrel jack. It includes a built-in voltage regulator that converts higher voltage inputs to the 5 V required by the board and its components.
  • Located near the USB port, the reset button allows users to restart the microcontroller’s program execution. Pressing this button resets the microcontroller and restarts the program from the beginning.
  • Like the standard Uno R3, it includes headers for connecting external components and shields. These headers provide access to power and ground lines, as well as communication interfaces such as SPI, I²C, and UART.
  • The board features built-in LED indicators for power (PWR), USB communication (RX and TX), and digital pin 13 (L). These LEDs are useful for debugging and provide visual feedback during program execution.
  • Based on the Arduino Uno platform, the SMD edition is fully compatible with the Arduino IDE, libraries, and shields. This makes it a versatile choice for electronics prototyping, educational use, and DIY projects.
