DESCRIPTION:

• The MAX30100-PULSE-I2C is an integrated pulse oximetry and heart-rate sensor module, designed for wearable and portable health monitoring systems. It combines two key sensing elements — red and infrared LEDs and a photodetector — along with low-noise analog signal processing, enabling precise measurement of SpO₂ (oxygen saturation) and heart rate (BPM).
• This sensor operates based on photoplethysmography (PPG) — a technique that measures variations in light absorption due to changes in blood volume with each heartbeat. The module’s I²C communication interface allows simple and direct connection with microcontrollers such as Arduino, ESP8266, ESP32, and Raspberry Pi.
• Compact and power-efficient, the MAX30100 is ideal for battery-powered applications. It features built-in ambient light cancellation for improved accuracy in diverse lighting conditions and includes an interrupt pin (INT) for event-driven operation.
