CAPACITIVE-SOILMOISTURE
Description
MINIMUM TECH FEATURES
- Supports 3-Pin Gravity Sensor Interface
- Analog output
- Non-corrosive capacitive measurement principle
DESCRIPTION
- This capacitive soil moisture sensor uses two conductive plates that act as a capacitor.
When soil moisture varies, the dielectric constant of the soil changes, altering the capacitance value. - Higher moisture → higher dielectric constant → increased capacitance, which is converted into an analog voltage output.
- Unlike resistive moisture sensors, this sensor is corrosion-free, resulting in a longer lifespan and reduced maintenance.
- Offers stable and accurate moisture readings, even in diverse soil conditions.
- Low power consumption makes it suitable for battery-powered or IoT applications.
- Ideal for use with Arduino, ESP8266, ESP32, Raspberry Pi, and similar microcontrollers.
